Tony Weiler was appointed Commissioner of Labor by Governor John Hoeven in September 2010. Prior to his appointment, Weiler was an attorney with the Maring Williams Law Office in Bismarck for eight years, where he focused on personal injury, business and corporate law. He served as a general practice attorney with the Wheeler Wolf Law Firm in Bismarck and worked as a labor standards inspector with the state Labor Department, charged with wage and hour law enforcement.

A native of Fort Yates, Weiler attended the University of North Dakota School of Law and graduated with distinction, receiving a Juris Doctor in 1998. Following law school, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dale Sandstrom with the North Dakota Supreme Court.

Weiler served as president of the Big Muddy Bar Association and the Bismarck Rotary Club, and has been active in other civic organizations, including Dakota Junior Golf, the Downtowners Association and the Knights of Columbus. He resides in Bismarck with his wife, Sheila, and 4 children.
