| The Board is responsible for the examination, certification, and licensing of certified public accountants and the licensing of public accountants. The Board determines standards of integrity, education, and proficiency and is empowered to suspend or revoke certification upon investigation and proof of misconduct. The governor appoints four certified public accountants (CPA) and one licensed public accountant (LPA) to serve staggered five-year terms. The Board employs an executive director. If the number of LPAs in the state becomes less than 25, the LPA position is filled by a CPA during the next vacancy. The appointments are made from a list of three, submitted by the appropriate nominating committee. |
