| The Council advocates for policy changes that promote choice,independence, productivity and inclusion for all North Dakotans with developmental disabilities. The Council supports projects and activities that maximize opportunities in these areas for consumers and families. Membership--At least 60 percent of the membership of the Council must consist of persons with DD and the parents, guardians or immediate relatives of such persons. At least one-third of this number must be persons with DD State agency representation is also required and must include: the Developmental Center; Job Service; Department of Public Instruction; Department of Human Services; and Health Department along with the Protection and Advocacy Project and the ND University Center for Excellence in DD Community-based DD Service Provider Organizations are also represented. | |||
