| This Committee screens candidates for vacant judgeships and to provide the governor with a list of names from which to make an appointment. The recommended appointees are then interviewed and appointed by the governor. The judge must run for the judgeship in the next election. The governor, chief justice, and president of the State Bar Association of North Dakota each appoint two permanent members. No member shall serve more than two three-year terms. The governor appoints the chairman. | |||
