BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple received word today that U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack has approved his request to make disaster assistance available to North Dakota farmers and ranchers who have sustained crop production losses due to flooding, frost and other damages.

Jack Dalrymple today led state legislative leaders on a tour of flood-damaged neighborhoods in the Minot area so that they could get a firsthand look at the region’s needs for federal and state assistance.  Joining Dalrymple on the tour were House Majority Leader Al Carlson, Senate Majority Leader Rich Wardner and Rep. Jeff Delzer, chairman of the House Appropriations Committee.

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple was in Fargo today to break ground on a new facility for Phoenix International, a John Deere Company, and to congratulate the company on its expansion that will bring new jobs and economic opportunities to the region. The event was held on the site of the company’s new facility north of 19th Avenue.

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple told other Missouri River governors today that the U.S. Corps of Engineers should lower Lake Sakakawea’s targeted elevation to prepare  for another year of expected heavy precipitation.

The majority of governors and officials from eight states along the Missouri River supported Dalrymple’s request for the Corps to lower Lake Sakakawea and make room for greater water storage during spring runoff.
