Dalrymple Celebrates Grand Opening of DCN's New Network Operations Center
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. Jack Dalrymple today attended a grand opening event for Dakota Carrier Network’s (DCN) new Network Operations Center in Bismarck and recognized the company for its important contributions to the state’s telecommunications industry. The 42,000-square-foot facility is highly secure and accommodates the company’s growing customer base and expanding role in ensuring business continuity.
“Congratulations to DCN on the completion of its Network Operations Center,” Dalrymple said. “DCN is a major part of North Dakota’s telecommunications infrastructure and a strong partner in our state’s technological advancement. We are proud to work with them to help provide North Dakotans with the latest communication capabilities.”
DCN provides network connectivity to some of the state’s most critical industry sectors, including health care, public safety and financial institutions. The company also provides services to North Dakota state government, as well as the North Dakota National Guard. Network connectivity is provided through STAGEnet, which provides services to all of the state’s school districts, higher education institutions, state agencies, counties and National Guard sites.
“As North Dakota continues to grow its economy and build a strong business climate, it is essential that our state has an advanced telecommunications infrastructure and that North Dakotans have access to leading-edge communication technology. DCN continues to be a valuable partner in those efforts.”
DCN is owned by 15 companies that represent the major local independent telephone companies and serves more than 164,000 customers in 250 communities with more than 16,000 miles of fiber optic cable in service.
