Dalrymple Celebrates Minot Housing Development and Major Donation to Area Flood Recovery
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple today joined with Minot officials to mark a milestone in the development of Stonebridge Farms, a large residential building project in northeast Minot. Dalrymple also joined with local officials in announcing a major donation by Stonebridge Farms Development Corp. to the Hope Village flood recovery program.
A residential lot donated by Kent Busek, developer of Stonebridge Farms, will be sold to help fund Hope Village’s flood-recovery assistance. Pastor Paul Krueger, director of Hope Village, also kicked off a fundraiser by encouraging the public to match the value of the Stonebridge donation.
Dalrymple thanked Busek for the donation to Hope Village and for Stonebridge Farms’ investment in Minot’s growth. Stonebridge Farms Development Corp. has completed construction of more than 150 apartment units, 20 single-family homes and 24 townhomes on a 160-acre site in northeast Minot. New residents began moving into the residential development in March. Construction continues at Stonebridge with plans to build more than 200 single-family homes and other housing for more than 600 households.
“Stonebridge Farms is part of the critical development necessary to meet the needs of this growing community,” Dalrymple said. “With a growing population and homes lost to last year’s historic flooding, it’s important that Minot residents have greater access to all types of housing. At the state level, we will continue to work with Minot and other communities to facilitate the development of affordable housing.”
Dalrymple and area officials celebrated the housing development by marking the completion of a townhome at 3318 8th St. NE. Busek credited the state for providing assistance that allowed him to expedite the housing construction. Dalrymple dedicated $560,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding for improvements to a sewer lift station that serves northeast Minot, include Stonebridge Farms.
Joining Dalrymple at the Stonebridge celebration were Kent Busek, Pastor Paul Krueger, representatives of the state’s congressional delegation and members of the Minot Chamber of Commerce.
