Hoeven, SBA Administrator Preston To Unveil Rural Lender Advantage For Rural Communities

WASHINGTON – Gov. John Hoeven and SBA Administrator Steve Preston will unveil Rural Lender Advantage, a package of lending services designed to better serve local, community banks in rural areas and improve the availability of financing for small businesses and entrepreneurs in rural markets. Hoeven has advised SBA on the development of the program, which will be rolled out in North Dakota on Thursday at the State Capitol in Bismarck The services will also be tested in Colorado, Montana, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming as part of a broader SBA initiative to provide greater outreach to small businesses in America’s heartland.

Small business growth in rural communities has been a priority for Administrator Preston since taking the helm at SBA more than a year ago. The many resources SBA offers to help entrepreneurs and small business owners in underserved markets include HUBZone and the New Markets Lending Initiative. Information on these programs can be found on SBA’s website, www.sba.gov.
