Hoeven: Verizon To Establish Permanent Cell Phone Tower In Northwood
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today announced that he has spoken with Verizon Communications Regional Director Nancy Clark, who said the company will upgrade its temporary cell phone tower in Northwood to a permanent structure.
“Good communication is essential under any circumstances, but it is especially important in a recovery effort,” Hoeven said. “We appreciate Verizon’s willingness to help get the community of Northwood on its feet by installing a permanent tower in the area.”
Hoeven said the existing device, a temporary mobile tower called a “cell on light truck,” or COLT, will be replaced with a “cell on wheels,” known as a COW. That, in turn, will be replaced by a permanent fixed tower sometime next year.
