Hoeven, Pawlenty Wager On Bison-Gophers Game
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty today announced that they’ve placed a friendly wager on Saturday’s football game between the North Dakota State University (NDSU) Bison and the University of Minnesota Gophers.
Hoeven wagered a package of North Dakota bison steaks, against Pawlenty’s walleye fillets. The game will begin at 11:07 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. NDSU is the number one ranked team in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision, with six wins and no losses.
“Coach Bohl and the NDSU Bison football team are doing an outstanding job this year,” Hoeven said. “We are behind them 100 percent and look forward to a great game.”
“It’s been a tough year for our Golden Gophers, but they almost pulled out a win last week and we’re hopeful that Coach Brewster and the team will get us a victory at the Dome on Saturday,” Governor Pawlenty said.
