Hoeven Statement On The Appointment Of Bruce Furness As Interim WSI Director
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to the Workforce Safety and Insurance board of director’s decision to appoint Bruce Furness interim director of the agency:
“I am pleased by the Workforce Safety and Insurance Board’s decision to hire Bruce Furness as the agency’s interim director. We have pushed for an outside interim director, and we strongly recommended Bruce for the position because I believe he is the right person to help get the agency back on track.”
“Throughout his career, in both the private sector and as the mayor of Fargo for 12 years, he has demonstrated his management skills, as well as his ability to work with people and the public. We believe he will work with employees, management, and the board to get WSI focused on its mission of serving the injured workers of North Dakota.”
