Hoeven Invites U.S.D.A. Sec. Ed Schafer To Meet With Farm Groups
BISMARCK, N.D. - Gov. John Hoeven today announced that he has invited U.S. Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer to Bismarck on Friday, March 28 to meet with farm group leaders to discuss the new Farm Bill. Further details regarding the secretary’s visit will be finalized next week.
“We have been working hard lobbying House members, Senators and the Administration to get a good farm bill passed for producers,” Hoeven said. “We’re continuing that effort, and that’s why we’ve invited Sec. Schafer out to hear again first hand from our farmers.”
Hoeven also met with members of Congress, Schafer, and other administration officials earlier this month in Washington, D.C. to press for timely and effective farm legislation.
