Hoeven Deploys State Resources In Search For Missing Dickinson State University Women
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven has authorized the deployment of state resources in the search for three Dickinson State University women who have been missing since Sunday night.
“We are making all of the resources the state has available to local law enforcement and first responders,” Hoeven said. “We are also praying for the young women, as well as their families.”
The North Dakota Highway Patrol has been conducting an air search since Monday morning, and today deployed an additional 12 officers to the area to assist local law enforcement. The agency is mustering additional officers as needed. The North Dakota Civil Air Patrol has also been conducting an air search. The North Dakota Department of Emergency Services and State Radio have been working with local authorities in the search for the missing women.
Additionally, Hoeven today directed the North Dakota National Guard to provide helicopter support to the effort as needed by local authorities. The North Dakota Game and Fish and Parks and Recreation departments have ATVs, 4X4 pick-ups and other resources at the ready to assist, as well.
Hoeven has spoken with Dickinson Mayor Dennis Johnson, Dickinson Police Chief Chuck Rummel, and Dickinson State University President Richard McCallum to offer all and any state support they may need in the search effort.
