Statement Of Gov. John Hoeven On The Finding Of Three Dickinson State University Students
BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. John Hoeven today issued the following statement in response to the finding of three Dickinson State University students who died in a tragic accident:
“We were all saddened to learn that Kyrstin Gemar, Ashley Neufeld and Afton Williamson died in their vehicle, which was discovered late this afternoon in a stock pond north of the city of Dickinson.
“Fatal accidents are always tragic, but they are especially so when they take young people just beginning their lives. On behalf of Mikey and myself, and the people of North Dakota, we extend our heartfelt sympathy to the families of Kyrstin, Ashley and Afton at this difficult time. Their loss weighs heavily on all of us.
“We also want to express our sincere appreciation to everyone who participated in the search, which ended in a way we all prayed it wouldn’t.”
