Governor Recognizes Veterans Day In North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. – In accordance with a proclamation issued by the President, Gov. John Hoeven is encouraging North Dakotans to observe Veterans Day, November 11, by honoring the contributions of veterans and those currently serving at home and abroad through ceremonies and patriotic activities, and by displaying the American and North Dakota flags.

"Our servicemen and women represent the very best of our state and nation, and serve with honor under the most difficult circumstances and make sacrifices that most of us cannot begin to imagine," said Hoeven. "On Veterans Day, we pay tribute to all who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces, honor the heroes we have lost and rededicate ourselves to the current generation of patriots who are carrying on this country's proud tradition of valor and service."

Hoeven will honor North Dakota's veterans and servicemen and women on Veterans Day, November 11, at a service beginning at 10 a.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center on the Capitol Grounds in Bismarck. He will also attend a program at 2 p.m. at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, located at 2101 Elm Street North in Fargo.
