Armstrong: BLM’s finalized Resource Management Plan is bad for North Dakota, should be repealed

Gov. Kelly Armstrong issued a statement in opposition to the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) finalizing its updated Resource Management Plan (RMP) for North Dakota, despite repeated objections from the state.

Gov. Kelly Armstrong directed the U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at full staff on Jan. 20 at the North Dakota Capitol and all state buildings in celebration of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Flags should return to half-staff on Jan. 21 and remain at half-staff through Jan. 28 in honor of former President Jimmy Carter, who died Dec. 29.

Kelly Armstrong appointed Reice Haase, former senior policy advisor in the Governor’s Office and former deputy executive director of the North Dakota Industrial Commission, to serve as director of the state Department of Water Resources, while thanking outgoing director Andrea Travnicek for her more than three years of service leading the agency. Armstrong also announced the appointment of attorney and former Governor’s Office policy advisor Zach Greenberg as interim state labor commissioner

Armstrong appoints Jill Kringstad to succeed Fedorchak on North Dakota Public Service Commission

Gov. Kelly Armstrong appointed Jill Kringstad, manager of business operations for the North Dakota Public Service Commission (PSC), to fill the PSC seat vacated by former commissioner Julie Fedorchak, effective immediately. Fedorchak was elected to Congress in November and sworn in Friday to represent North Dakota in the U.S. House of Representatives.
