BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple today issued the following statement in response to the death of Burleigh County Sheriff’s Deputy Bryan Sleeper, who died in the line of duty early Wednesday.

Dalrymple, Amazon Celebrate Opening of New Service Center in Grand Forks

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) and the Grand Forks Region Economic Development Corporation today celebrated the opening of the company’s newly expanded customer service center in Grand Forks. Amazon will create more than 200 full-time jobs and hundreds of seasonal jobs at the facility by the end of 2012.

Dalrymple, Sanstead Name Werner 2012 North Dakota Teacher of the Year

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple and State Superintendent Wayne Sanstead today named Brenda Werner, an English teacher at Bismarck High School (BHS), North Dakota’s 2012 Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made during a ceremony at Bismarck High School that was attended by administrators, educators, representatives from the state’s education associations, and students. Dalrymple and Sanstead were joined by Bismarck Public Schools Superintendent Tamara Uselman and BHS Principal Ken Erickson.

Governor, First Lady To Honor Soldiers Deploying to Kosovo and Their Families

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack and First Lady Betsy Dalrymple will attend a send-off ceremony tomorrow, Saturday, September 24 at 10:30 a.m. for the members of the North Dakota National Guard’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 1st Battalion, 112th Aviation Regiment. The ceremony will be held at the Army Aviation Support Facility, located at 3410 Airway Avenue in Bismarck.

Dalrymple, Sanstead to Announce 2012 North Dakota Teacher of the Year

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple and State Superintendent Wayne Sanstead will announce the 2012 North Dakota Teacher of the Year during a ceremony on Tuesday, September 27 at 9:15 a.m. The event will be held in the Karlgaard Gym at Bismarck High School (BHS), located at 800 North 8th Street in Bismarck.

Dalrymple Calls on Ag Secretary for Disaster Declaration

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple has asked U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to issue a Secretarial Disaster Declaration for qualifying North Dakota counties where farmers and ranchers have suffered significant production losses due to this spring’s severe storms, excessive rainfall, flooding and other weather-related damages.

Dalrymple: State Provides Funding, Expedites Mouse River Floodway Study

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple today said an engineering firm hired to complete a floodway study for the city of Minot and Ward County has agreed to expedite the project and provide a preliminary report by November 3.

FEMA Grants Dalrymple's Request to Extend Deadline for Flood Assistance

Dalrymple Presents Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award to Ronald D. Offutt

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple today presented the North Dakota Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award to business leader and philanthropist Ronald D. Offutt during the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce annual meeting in Fargo. Joined by family, friends, and community and business leaders, Dalrymple unveiled a portrait of Offutt that will hang in the state Capitol building in Bismarck, along with the portraits of other notable North Dakotans. Offutt is the 38th North Dakotan to receive the award, which is the state’s highest commendation for its citizens.

Dalrymple Recognizes State Employees for Excellence in Public Service

BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Jack Dalrymple today presented the Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service to six state employees who were recognized for their dedication and contributions to the people of North Dakota. The awards were presented during a luncheon at the Capitol in Bismarck, kicking off State Employee Recognition Week.
