BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum today signed an executive order extending until March 22 an hours of service waiver for drivers of commercial vehicles transporting propane, diesel fuel and gasoline.
North Dakotans are faced with extremely low inventories of propane supplies, diesel fuel and gasoline products resulting from market conditions impacted by continuing severe seasonal weather and increased heating fuel demands, the order states.
Waiving the hours of service requirements will ensure that carriers and drivers can deliver propane, diesel and gasoline to businesses, farms, ranches and private households to meet the state’s needs.
An hours of service waiver issued Feb. 15 for propane, diesel fuel and gasoline haulers was set to expire today. The executive order signed today extends the waiver until March 22. All road safety and vehicle compliance regulations still apply.
