BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum issued the following statement today on the passing of former state legislator Rae Ann Kelsch of Mandan, who served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 1991 to 2012, chairing the House Education Committee for much of that time.
“Rae Ann Kelsch was a passionate advocate for her constituents and clients, a dedicated public servant and family woman, and a fierce champion for education and many other causes,” Burgum said. “A fixture at the state Capitol for nearly three decades, Rae Ann was willing to work with anyone on good public policy for the benefit of all North Dakotans. Those who knew and worked with Rae Ann will remember her boundless energy, joyful laugh and enthusiasm for life that touched the lives of everyone around her. Kathryn and I extend our deepest sympathies and heartfelt prayers to her family and friends.”
