BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum today signed an executive order granting an hours-of-service waiver for drivers of commercial vehicles transporting propane.
North Dakotans are faced with extremely low inventories of propane supplies resulting from market conditions impacted by severe seasonal weather and increased heating fuel demands, the order states.
Waiving the hours-of-service requirements will ensure that carriers and drivers can deliver propane to businesses, farms, ranches and private households to meet the state’s needs.
The waiver will remain in effect until Feb. 17. All road safety and vehicle compliance regulations still apply.
