BISMARCK, N.D. – Lisa Kudelka, who served as director of human resources for Bismarck Public Schools for 21 years before retiring in July, has been named interim Chief People Officer (CPO) for the State of North Dakota.
Kudelka, of Hensler, N.D., earned a bachelor’s degree in personnel management from Minnesota State University Moorhead and a master of public administration degree from the University of North Dakota. She previously served as personnel director for the North Dakota Department of Health from 1991 to 1997 and as training and development administrator for the state’s central personnel division from 1986 to 1991.
The CPO is state government’s top workforce strategist and organizational development leader, serving as a member of the governor’s cabinet and as leader of Human Resources Management Services (HRMS), a division of the Office of Management and Budget.
Kudelka will serve as interim CPO until a permanent CPO is named.
