Join our team as a Field Auditor II, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with the North Dakota Unemployment Compensation Insurance law. You will audit employer accounts, act as a UI Tax resource for employers, help employers with UI cost control strategies, and determine liability for insurance coverage while monitoring the reporting of quarterly wage filings.In addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, particularly in reviewing IRS tax documents including 1099s, W2s, and income tax estimations, and have the ability to identify discrepancies, ensure compliance with regulations, and recommend corrective actions where necessary. Prior auditing experience in a financial setting and/or experience in payroll functions, such as 940s and 941s is also beneficial. Strong mathematical skills and meticulous attention to detail are crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for accurately completing forms and ensuring they are error-free. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, effectively manage deadline, work independently, and proactively seek out resources. Comfort with remote training, the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations like appeal hearings, and openness to constructive feedback is essential. We are looking for someone genuinely interested in the role and prepared to showcase their qualifications and eagerness to join our JSND Team.Key Responsibilities:Employer Audits: Conduct audits to verify business ownership and records, review employee wage accuracy, identify misclassified workers, and reconcile audit findings. You'll prepare work papers, make adjustments, and determine additional taxes or penalties.Liability Determination: Identify employers subject to Unemployment Insurance (UI) liability through field inspections and business record analysis. You'll advise employers on UI requirements, process liability determinations, and assist with coverage termination and necessary reporting. Represent the agency in appeals as needed.Special Investigations: Inspect and collect evidence, collaborate with the State's Attorney for legal action, and investigate potential fraud involving UI benefits. Your work will involve examining business records, conducting interviews, and determining the appropriateness of issues under UI law.Client Services: Serve as a consultant to employers, providing education and acting as a liaison between UI and clients. You'll promote services, and present tax workshops to various groups. Your role also includes advising employers on ensuring timely report submissions.Other Duties: Handle determinations related to Independent Contractor status, testify in court hearings, and assist with staffing services determinations. Minimum Qualifications

Parole and Probation Officer III minimum qualifications:POIII requires a bachelor's degree with a major in a behavioral science or another degree determined by hiring authority at time of recruitment and five years of work experience directly interacting with offenders in a correctional, law enforcement, or social work setting. Two years of the experience must have been in duties comparable to those of a PO II. Incumbent must be licensable as a ND Peace Officer under North Dakota Century Code Chapter 12-63 and shall attend the first available basic peace officer training program recognized by the ND Peace Officers and Training Board (POST Board) ensuring authorization to perform the peace officer duties of a Parole and Probation Officer in accordance with North Dakota Century Code Section 12-59-20. Must have a valid class D driver's license. Parole and Probation Officer II minimum qualifications: A bachelor's degree is preferred in behavioral science, education, business, or a related field with three years of work experience in a corrections, law enforcement, social work, education, or behavioral health setting. Eligibility to be licensed as a peace officer in North Dakota OR an associate's degree with five years of work experience with individuals in corrections, law enforcement, social work, education or behavioral health setting may be considered.
