BISMARCK, N.D. – Gov. Doug Burgum on Wednesday will meet with the Metro Flood Diversion Authority to discuss ongoing efforts to secure comprehensive flood protection for the Fargo-Moorhead metro area.

Burgum, U.S. Sen. John Hoeven and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Col. Sam Calkins, commander of the Corps’ St. Paul District, are among those scheduled to speak at the meeting.

Burgum met last month with Calkins and Maj. Gen. The Diversion Authority submitted a new permit application for the diversion project in March after accepting the recommendations of the F-M Area Flood Diversion Task Force formed by Burgum and Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton.
