BISMARCK, N.D. (May 29, 2018) – Gov. Doug Burgum and Lt. Gov. Brent Sanford will address attendeeds at the annual Drone Focus conference this week in Fargo, emphasizing the collaboration that has made North Dakota a national leader in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and highlighting the recent selection of the North Dakota Department of Transportation and partners for the national UAS Integration Pilot Program.
Burgum will lead off the morning session at 9 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at the Fargo Civic Center. The session also will include remarks from U.S. Sen. John Hoeven; Derek Kan, Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy at the U.S. Department of Transportation; and Nick Flom, executive director of the Northern Plains UAS Test Site in Grand Forks.
Sanford will speak during the Thursday morning session starting at 9 a.m., also at the Civic Center. Among that session’s scheduled speakers is Finch Fulton, the USDOT’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Transportation Policy.
