Governor Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Helgaas Burgum invite you to join them for Recovery Reinvented on September 5th at the Fargo Civic Center. This non-traditional, daylong event will feature state and national addiction and recovery experts dedicated to reinventing recovery through eliminating the shame and stigma of addiction and empowering communities.
Join addiction recovery advocates, behavioral health providers, business and community leaders, faith-based organizations, families, first responders, healthcare providers and administrators, law enforcement, Native American communities, university and college representatives, and anyone dedicated to reinventing recovery to help North Dakota reach its full potential as a state.
Keynote speakers have been selected for their diverse backgrounds and contributions to the field of addiction and recovery. Backgrounds include the brain science of addiction, national broadcasting, criminal justice reform and re-entry, higher education, and national non-profit advocacy. Last year’s attendees described the event as a high-energy, insightful experience that left them feeling hopeful, inspired and empowered to make real change personally, and for their communities.
The governor and first lady recognize that alcohol and drug use is still the No. 1 social problem in North Dakota with ramifications for the workplace, schools, communities and families. And it will take every one of us to change the culture. Recovery Reinvented will provide actionable steps to build recovery support infrastructure in their communities, best practices to mitigate shame and stigma, opportunities to connect with advocates committed to reinventing recovery, and inspire hope for those that may be struggling.
Recovery Reinvented is free and open to the public. Tickets are limited and registration is required. As well, many volunteers will be needed for the event!
