Gov. Doug Burgum announced that the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) has granted his request to extend an hours of service waiver for drivers of commercial vehicles transporting water and livestock feed to help North Dakota livestock producers affected by continuing drought conditions.

Gov. Doug Burgum and First Lady Kathryn Burgum will host the fifth Recovery Reinvented online Monday, Oct. 25, at the Bismarck Event Center and online at recoveryreinvented.com. The day will focus on sharing addiction and recovery stories, creating recovery-friendly cultures in the workplace and community and eliminating the stigma surrounding the disease of addiction.

Colin Powell, who passed away Monday, Oct. 18, at age 84.

Doug Burgum has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff on Saturday, Oct. 16, and encourages North Dakotans to do the same at their homes and businesses, in honor of the National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service and to pay tribute to law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty and their families.

Gov. Doug Burgum announced the state will launch a search for a new executive director for Job Service North Dakota (JSND). The governor expressed his gratitude to North Dakota Workforce Safety & Insurance (WSI) Director Bryan Klipfel, who has served as interim executive director of JSND since 2019 and will return to leading WSI full time.

Gov. Doug Burgum and the North Dakota Department of Commerce announced that the North Dakota Development Fund has approved initial support for Cerilon Inc. to develop a major gas-to-liquids (GTL) complex in North Dakota, with the initial phase estimated at $2.8 billion.
